6th Okinawa International Movie Festival/a>

The finale of the 6^th Okinawa International Movie Festival, known as the “All-Ending,” saw a bright display of Okinawa culture on the outdoor Beach Stage on the cool breeze of the evening on March 24.

 

Beginning with an extended Eisa folk dance featuring multiple taiko drummers, sanshin players and other musicians rouse the crowd of thousands, the event saw comedian groups Garage Sale and Slim Club entertain the crowd.
 
 

Kariyushi 58, a four-man rock-reggae group named after the Okinawan word for “happiness” and Highway Route 58, delighted the crowd with a series of their hits including “Anma,” supported by local folk musicians.

 

The 7^th Okinawa International Movie Festival was then announced, from 25th to 29th of March in 2015, as fireworks lit up the bay and closed this year’s enormously successful five-day event.
