6th Okinawa International Movie Festival

The Okinawa International Movie Festival will be held for the 6th time.
I am extremely pleased to see that this movie festival, which began in 2009, has taken root here in Okinawa thanks to the support and cooperation of the people of Okinawa. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for this.
Since the 5th festival wrapped up last year, we have been making preparations for this year’s movie festival to be even bigger and better.
The catch phrase for this 6th festival is “All Things Great in All the Islands!”. Over the past 5 festivals, the people of Okinawa have come together in a variety of ways to expand the extent of opportunities for exchange. This time, we hope to work together to make this movie festival, and Okinawa itself, even more exciting than before.
We have built a strong support system throughout the prefecture, and have prepared a variety of events and programs across the islands that will hold this festival. We will share information and entertainment which highlights the charms of Okinawa with the rest of the nation, and the world. This year we will also have a great collection of wonderful entertainment from across the country and the world. It is my hope that this movie festival will provide a forum for visitors from many places to deepen their relationships, find stimulation, and create new ideas and content.
