At the "JIMOT CM COMPETITION, local attractions known only to local people are made into a commercial in cooperation with Yoshimoto Kogyo.
This year, in addition to prefectures nationwide, the project involves not only all the 41 municipalities of Okinawa prefecture, the host of the festival itself, but also various ASEAN countries.
The "food culture" such as local cuisine and specialties has been featured as the theme in order to highlight regional characteristics better. Through the "food", which is most familiar to anyone, it is expected to represent local “cultures” including "people", "scenery", and other elements behind it.
All the entries in the category this year have been filmed with smart phone devices and edited using Dell Graphic Pro, a product of one of our supporting companies, in order to aim for better-quality production.
Through the results of the voting, 6 nominated works each from the Commercials from the 46 prefectures and Commercials from Okinawa’s 41 Municipalities have been selected.
All works will be shown at this year’s Okinawa International Movie Festival.

This competition not only focuses on Japanese localities but has spread abroad, also looking at regions internationally. In connection with the Okinawan Community, this year’s creative theme is introducing regional food culture through the eyes of Japanese people living overseas.
In addition to the 3 countries mentioned above, other commercials productions are underway in China, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Malaysia.
Dell Graphic Pro JIMOT Creators
Along with the existing “JIMOT CM Category,” the “Dell Graphic Pro JIMOT Creators Category” was established to contribute in discovering talented creators and support their works’ nationwide development.
Dividing Japan into 5 regions (Hokkaido/Toyokita, Kanto, Chubu, Kansai, Kyushu/Okinawa), a representative work will be selected from each region. The best work will be chosen and awarded the Grand Prix at the Okinawa International Movie Festival.
Awards
The winners from the 41 prefectures of Japan, and the 41 regions of Okinawa, will receive a Grand Prix prize, as follows;

A total of more than 1,000 entries was received.
Amongst these entries filled with fascinating idea embodying affection for local area, a total of 87 ideas (one each from 46 prefectures nationwide and 41 municipalities in Okinawa) has been hand-picked.

Filming of the commercials was carried out while proposers and the Yoshimoto staff nationwide joined forces with each other.
1,800 local people in all united their efforts as staff, as cast, and in other various capacities.

At the event, one grand prize winner will be chosen from the commercials of the 46 prefectures nationwide, and another grand prize winner from those of the 41 municipalities in Okinawa. 470,000 yen will be awarded for the grand prize winner of the national competition and 410,000 yen for the grand prize winner of the Okinawa competition, and both commercials will be televised on terrestrial programs.

As spot commercials for programs on TV terrestrial broadcasting, BS broadcasting, and international satellite broadcasting, etc., these commercials are transmitted just like ordinary TV commercials.
