Niibichi Film Festival
With the catch phrase of “Omedetai Karakoso Medachitai”, the world’s first Nibichi (Wedding) Entertainment Film Competition (Nibichi Movie Festival) which has been held since 2011 by organizers Community FM and FM Yomitan in Okinawa Prefecture will collaborate with the Okinawa International Movie Festival.
Okinawa weddings and receptions have more guests than would ever be invited in any other prefecture and are known to get going with the Kachashi (traditional dance), and a lot of effort is put into the entertainment.
The “Nibichi Movie Festival” highlights entertainment films that focus on production technology, to determine the best film. Anyone who has footage of the entertainment at a wedding or reception can enter their work in the Movie Festival.
A certain number of these entries are carefully selected by a jury to be announced and screened at the Okinawa International Movie Festival.
From among the selected works, viewers will vote on the winner at the finals held at the Okinawa Zampamisaki Royal Hotel on Saturday May 3rd, 2014.
