OIMF District Support Groups
Okinawa International Movie Festival Cooperative
The “Okinawa International Movie Festival Cooperative” was organized centered around the “Committee on the Future of Okinawa Tourism”, “JCI Okinawa Junior Chamber”, and the “Okinawa Youth Chamber of Commerce” ahead of the 4th festival.
Main Activities of the Cooperative
*Site clean-up ahead of the festival
*Creating a welcoming atmosphere around the prefecture’s tourism industry(creation and posting of notice stickers, and the sale of Movie festival goods in prefecture hotels etc.)
*Support for tourists attending the festival from outside of the prefecture/overseas
*Movie Festival PR for Okinawa Media (programming and broadcasting at FM Okinawa)
*Establish a steering committee for regional support groups, and work to establish support groups in each district based on the “Okinawa International Movie Festival Ginowan Support Group” established last year (see following page for details)

Okinawa International Movie Festival Ginowan Cheering Squad
Okinawa International Movie Festival Ginowan Cheering Squad is a support group consists of citizens and various members of local organizations including the city hall, society of commerce and industry, and tourism promotion association in Ginowan City, where Okinawa Convention Center, the main venue of the festival, is located. It was established for the 5th edition of Okinawa International Movie Festival, encouraging volunteer program and promoting a greater partnership between the city and the festival.
Main Activities
*Consulting and launching various support groups within the prefecture(coordinating and organizing support groups)
*Organizing pre-festival events and Local Origination Project in 41 district with corporation of local groups and interested parties.
*Coordinating the film festival and planning pre-festival events including managing and distributing the countdown boards
*Promoting the festival to the citizens and the various government groups including the city hall and encouraging involvement with the festival

Okinawa Prefecture, Okinawa Convention Visitors Bureau, Okinawan Culture Promotion Association and Others
The festival has been supported by Okinawa Prefectural Government and related organizations and various support had been provided for the upcoming 6th edition in order to endorse tourism activation programs launched by Okinawa Prefecture.

*Genki Project: Remote Island Tourism Activation - “Real Escape Game from a Remote Island” Event
*Organizing communication networks in all districts and villages
*Supporting sign displays for visitors
*Supporting various efforts to increase tourism in conjunction with the festival
*Producing Okinawan Contents “Ship of Ryukyu – Okinawan New Comedy” by the Culture Promotion Association
