6th Okinawa International Movie Festival

I would like to offer my sincere congratulations on the holding of the 6th Okinawa International Movie Festival. I would also like to express my appreciation to everyone that has worked so hard on the festival. Last year’s 5th Okinawa International Movie Festival was a great suc- cess, with about 422,000 people attending the various events, including the “Laugh&Peace Category” feature film screenings, as well as comedy and music events etc.
The 6th Okinawa International Movie Festival has been created in cooperation with the citizens of the prefecture, and with the theme of “All Things Great in All the Islands!”, it is expected to be even bigger than last year.
Beginning with the “JIMOT CM COMPETITION”, where local pride is expressed through an appeal to local charms such as local cui- sine and specialty products based on the theme of “food”, and including film screenings on big screens, a number of plans are in place to make this an enjoyable festival.
I will continue to work hard, even here in Chatan, to ensure that the Okinawa International Movie Festival is successful, and that it makes a contribution to the tourism industry and regional development of Okinawa prefecture, and I look forward to meeting many visitors. With this greeting, I pray for the success of the 6th Okinawa International Movie Festival, and for the good health of all of its visitors.
