6th Okinawa International Movie Festival

I would like to congratulate the opening of the 6th Okinawa International Movie Festival in Okinawa, which can be dubbed “Hawaii in Asia”.
I am also extremely grateful that I have been invited to the festival every year ever since the very first festival in 2009. Although I will not be able to attend this year’s event, I feel deeply honored.
This festival was inaugurated based on the intention of Mr. Hiroshi Osaki, the chair- man of the executive committee, that the aim of this movie festival was to make all those who visit Okinawa smile. In March for the past several years, I witnessed the concept of the movie festival gradually becoming a reality, in which actors, directors, and spectators were all smiling, enjoying themselves, and becoming “friends” with each other. There is no longer any doubt that the Okinawa International Movie Festival will develop into the most unique movie festival in the world.
Wishing for these special bonds of mine with Okinawa to continue, I will be hoping for the 6th Okinawa International Movie Festival 2014 to be a great success.
