At the Theatre 1 of the Okinawa Convention Center, “Pirameki’s Children Story,” based on the popular children’s show “Piramekino” broadcast on TV Tokyo from 2009, had its first screening at the Okinawa International Movie Festival. The movie describes the business of TV and child stars with the full cast of the TV show.
After the screening, the director Yu Ota, star Fuku Suzuki, the main emcees of the show Fruit Punch and Hannya, and the character of the show Pirameki Panda Bear came up to the stage to an enthusiastic reaction from the audience.
When it was decided to make the movie, the director worried “people may not know about the TV show,” but he told the audience that the cast worked hard and created a warm atmosphere. Ota then told a story about how he was impressed with the child star Fuku’s professional work. “In the movie you could see Fuku talks about a lot of flower’s names, but he couldn’t know the names beforehand because the flowers only arrived on the shooting day. So I thought it’s not possible to remember all the names. But Fuku remembered all names on the day, and delivered the line without any mistake!”
In the end, Fuku received the question, “do you believe in destiny like you said in the movie?” immediately answering, “Yes!” His reaction caused all the cast and audience to laugh, and the cast greeting finished with a lot of laughter and applause.
